Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said on Wednesday that the war with Gaza would continue until Hamas was disarmed and Palestinian territory was fully under Israeli control.
The Israeli Prime Minister has decided some of his conditions to end the war that began in October 2023.
“I am ready to end the war, but there are clear conditions to ensure Israel’s security. All hostages will return home, Hamas will hand over their weapons and leave their power,” Netanyahu said at a press conference in Jerusalem.
Netanyahu pointed out that all Hamas leadership must leave Gaza and that Israel must ensure that the enclave is free of weapons. He also argued that after all these conditions have been met, Israel will move forward and move forward with Trump’s proposal plan for the future of Gaza.
“We’re going to implement (President) Trump’s plan. It’s a good plan, it means that it’s a very simple thing that makes a difference and allows Gaza residents who want to leave to leave.”
Trump previously had the idea that the US would resettle all Gaza population in order to “take ownership” of the land. The proposal was met with widespread regional and international disapproval in many countries that argue that Gaza is Palestinian and should stay for Palestinians.
Netanyahu also pointed out that he is open to a temporary ceasefire with Hamas to release the remaining hostages. Israeli leaders added that Israeli Intelligence Agency suggests that of the remaining 58 hostages still under Hamas prisoners, 20 are believed to be alive.
Netanyahu also denounced countries that have called on Israel for their actions and operations in Gaza. He emphasized that the war would only end when Hamas is completely dismantled, adding that their disapproval of the Israeli war is plagued by support for Hamas.
“Those who call us to end the war just before we achieve these goals are actually asking Hamas to remain in power.”
On Tuesday, the UK suspended free trade talks with Israel over fierce attacks as Israel, Canada and France pledged “specific” measures to encourage Israel to halt the war.
The European Union was also considering an EU agreement that governs trade with Israel over acts of war, according to the foreign policy director.
Netanyahu has expressed his opposition to recent developments.
“I think this is a dishonorable thing about Britain being sanctioned on women who are threatened daily on Judia and Samaria (West Bank) roads by Hamas terrorists.”
He also said US President Donald Trump has been on his side and has rumours about his broken relationship with Washington for rest.
“A few days ago, maybe over ten days ago, I spoke on the phone with Trump. He told me, Vivi, I want you to know that I have an absolute commitment to you.
Hamas says he is ready to release hostages in exchange for a full Israeli withdrawal from the territory and the end of the war. But it rejects the demands of asylum and disarmament.
