Dave Shapiro I made a headline in May 2025, but unfortunately it’s not a positive reason. The co-founder of the late Sound Talent Group (STG) died in the tragic Cessna plane crash in San Diego, California. His independent agency has also confirmed the news. Although there were other victims in the crash, not all identities were released immediately with respect for their families. It is still unknown who is flying the plane.
A STG spokesman has issued a statement regarding Shapiro’s death. According to BillboardThe person in charge said, “We are devastated by the loss of our co-founders, colleagues and friends. Our hearts are directed at our families and everyone affected by today’s tragedy. Thank you for respecting our privacy at the moment.”

Apart from working in the music industry, Shapiro was also a skilled pilot. According to Billboardhe owned more than 10 years of flight experience and speed aviation. According to the business website, Velocity is “a full-service aviation business that handles a wide range of aviation services.”

Dave Shapiro is married
Shapiro got married, according to an unverified Instagram account with a bio with the words “Dave Shapiro: Music Agent: Airplane/Helicopter Pilot: Husband: Puppy Dad: Retired Base Jumper: Alaska/San Diego.” As you can see in his profile, his wife’s name is Julia Shapiro.
Shapiro occasionally shared photos of Julia on his Instagram page. In October 2019, he celebrated her birthday by posting a photo of Julia on the beach carrying her dog.
“The happiest day of birthdays for my best friend, my wife, my mother of our four-legged children and the amazingly authentic people,” the post was captioned. “Love you so much! Even though you’re getting older, the best years are still ahead! xo (sic).”
The following year, Shapiro reflected “the madness of 2020″ (probably likely to refer to the Covid-19 pandemic” by sharing a photo of Julia on his Instagram page.
“What you can see here is the crazy silver lining of 2020. We had a quality time than ever,” he wrote, adding, “The keyword is ‘quality’. Every day, despite all the uncertainty in our business, I am still grateful every day. ”
