Cleveland Clinic points out that treatment for NPH requires surgery to fill the shunt to drain excess fluid from inside the patient’s skull.

Despite the difficulties associated with NPH, each Cleveland clinic is usually treatable and reversible. Symptoms of NPH often look the same as dementia.
