But developer Madfinger Games has turned things around with the game’s Winds of War update, and its player numbers are definitely surged.
Despite a serious rocky start, the war in the Greyzone is on the rise. In this realistic military FPS game, players count rockets from an average of 2,000 simultaneous players to nearly 20,000. That’s not just a small portion of the latest news on the war that fell a few days ago.
Winds of War gives the game a big boost, adding a dynamic weather system, 60 new locations, new mission types, new weapons, combat front post bases, and perhaps most importantly, it makes it easier to distinguish between fo and sect-based friends from enemies. No one wants to be known for its friendly fire.
On top of that, the entire economy in the game has been recalibrated, and according to developer Madfinger Games, the rewards should feel more meaningful. A significant increase in concurrent players suggests that Mudfinger is on the right track.
But that’s not all. The Gray Zone Warfare review also showed significant improvements. Recent reviews are mostly positive, their current ratings are mixed, almost negative and serious improvement. Recent review-level praise at Winds of War Update still mentions performance issues. A little more work, and escape from Tarkov could really be bothered me.
