North Korea has called it a “very dangerous” initiative that could hit President Donald Trump’s “Golden Dome” missile defense program, threatening war in space.

Since returning to the White House in January, Trump has prioritized the scheme, aiming to protect the United States from aviation threats such as ballistic and cruise missiles. If we move on, we could potentially include sensors and interceptors in space.

“When fully constructed, the Golden Dome can intercept missiles, whether launched from other sides of the world or from space.

In response, the North Korean Foreign Ministry has issued a memorandum accusing the United States of “turning into hell” in the militarization space.

According to the state-run South Korea Central News Agency (KCNA), Trump’s plans have a risk of “turning space into a potential nuclear war sector.”

The criticism reflected the language China used on Wednesday when a spokesman for China’s Foreign Ministry said that the US program “increases the risk of space becoming a battlefield, promotes arms race and undermines international security.”

“We urge the United States to abandon the development and deployment of global missile defense systems as soon as possible,” the spokesman added.

Trump emphasizes the need for the United States to improve its defensive capabilities in light of threats from the enemy.

The US President suggests that the Golden Dome program could become operational by the end of his term in 2029.

However, experts say the initiative could take years to complete. There are also concerns about the costs of such ventures.

Trump claimed the entire project would cost $175 billion (15.4 billion euros), but the Congressional Budget Office said this month that only the space-based components of the Golden Dome could return to $5420 billion (478 billion euros) over the next 20 years.
