The controversial “Manosphere” influencer brothers Andrew and Tristan Tate will return to the UK to protect themselves from charges that include rape and human trafficking after the ongoing lawsuit in Romania, their lawyers said Thursday.

In January 2024, prosecutors approved the charges against the pair, who are double-US citizens, but the UK Crown Prosecutor’s Office did not release any charges that involved the abuse of several women until Wednesday.

In the meantime, the Romanian court issued an order to hand over the pair once the ongoing case is over, British prosecutors said.

Tates’ lawyers argued that the brothers are at a disadvantage as British prosecutors don’t share information about the charges, but the pair said they would be proactively defended.

“These are historic allegations and our clients have not even been told who the supposed victim is,” the Holborn Adams law firm said in a statement.

“This… shows a different approach based on the client’s profile,” the company added.

What is the UK incident against Tates?

Self-proclaimed misogynist, 38-year-old Andrew Tate has a greater support than his brother, who portrays his brother and young man in the luxurious lifestyle he projects.

He faces 10 charges related to three women, including rape, actual physical harm, human trafficking and control of prostitution for profit, prosecutors said.

Meanwhile, 36-year-old Tristan Tate faces 11 charges related to one woman, including rape, human trafficking and actual physical harm.

The allegations from Bedfordshire, the county north of London where the brothers grew up, have spread between 2012 and 2015.

Tates was arrested in Romania in late 2022 and was formally charged last year with accusations of participating in the ring of a criminal who seduced a sexually exploited woman. Andrew Tate was also charged with rape.

The brothers have been investigating alleged crimes such as rape, human trafficking and money laundering by Romanian authorities for more than two years. They denies all the fees.

The Romanian Court of Appeals said in December 2024 that trafficking lawsuits could not proceed due to legal and procedural irregularities.

Tates’ attorneys said they may have information that could undermine the claim, but police and prosecutors refused to speak to them.

The brothers left Romania for the United States in February, but have since returned after Florida officials announced they were considering a possibility of prosecuting them there.

When they returned home in March, they told the media that “innocent men don’t run away from anything.”
