Art director and production designer Les Dilley dies aged 84

Les Dillie, an Oscar-winning Welsh art director and production designer, is known for his work Star Wars, The Raiders of Lost Ark And many other films died at the age of 84.

A statement from Dilly’s agent said his wife and family were killed by his side due to complications from Alzheimer’s disease.

Born in South Wales, Dilly began her film career in London as a teenager and worked in various roles before earning her first credits as an art director in 1973. Three Musketeers. A statement from Dilly’s family said: “Les’ legacy lives in many iconic films he has brought to life over 60 years, and in his family home he personally built it as a homage to his work. And he will be greatly overlooked by his devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather and he will be overlooked.”
