Janus Films has acquired all North American rights tHe loves to be lefta drama from Icelandic Hlynur Pálmason, which debuted in the premier section of this month’s Cannes Festival.
The deal follows the acquisition of Janus two and a half years ago by Palmason. Godlandpremiered in the United Nations Specific Respect section of Cannes 2022.
The remaining love Saga Garðarsdóttir and Sverrir Gudnason are stars as parents navigate the separation for a year in their family’s lives. Also featured is the Icelandic Sheepdog Panda from Palson, who won the Palm Dog Award at Cannes.
The film was produced by Anton Mani Svanson on Snow Grove’s still vivid, Catlin’s Paul, and was co-produced by Hobab, Maneki Films, Film Ivasto and Arte French Films. New European film sales handled sales.
