Education Department Says Columbia University Fails to Meet Accreditation Standards

The Ministry of Education opened an office at Columbia University for civil rights investigations in early February.

The Department of Education said on June 4 that Columbia University had not met the accreditation standards amid widespread discrimination allegations against Jewish students on campus due to violating federal civil rights laws.

In a press release Wednesday, the department notified Columbia that it had violated Title VI, a federal civil rights law, following an investigation by the Office of Civil Rights (OCR) that began in early February.
