Ruth Madeley to lead Sian Heder’s ‘Being Heumann’ for Apple Studios

British actress Ruth Madeley was cast in a leading role Being a Hemanhas won an Oscar Award Coda Screenwriter Cyan Heder and Apple Studios.

Madrid was nominated for BAFTA for her performance in the 2015 BBC drama Don’t take my baby It also appeared in a British TV project. Then Barbara met Alan., Year and year and Doctor Who.

Being a Heman Based on the memoirs of activist Judy Hemann, it’s about how groups of disabled people led them to take over the San Francisco federal buildings in protests calling for the enforcement of US laws that demand federal spaces become accessible.

Heder oversees and creates features under an agreement with Apple and coordinates Heumann’s books. Rebekah Taussig acts as a co-writer. Also produced gravitational square entertainment is produced by David Permatt, Kevin Walsh of the Walsh Company, John W. Beach and Kevin Cleary. Executive producers include Heumann, her co-authors Kristen Joiner and Diana Pokorny.

Madeley commented: “It’s an incredible honor to play a mother with disabilities rights, a mother of symbolism and a great power in the disabled community. Judy has always been a personal source of inspiration for me and I’m so excited to share her story with the world. This is a lifelong role.”
