Spanish startup Multi-space computing raises 189 million euros ($217 million) to expand its breakthrough AI compression technology Compactifai, reducing its up to 95% without performance losses.
The San Sebastián-based company announced its Series B funding on June 12, with support from HP Inc, Forgepoint Capital, Toshiba and several public-private European investors.
CEO Enrique Lizaso Ormos said:
“What began as a breakthrough in model compression quickly transformatively proved to unlock new efficiencies in AI deployments.” (Quote). MultiverseComputing.com).
Inspired by quantum physics, the tool reduces AI inference costs by up to 80% and allows models to run on small devices such as phones, drones and even raspberry PIs.
The compressed versions of Llama, Deepseek, and Mistral are already live and can continue further. According to Bullhound’s Roman-by-Roman Bullhound, Multiverse supports AI’s “European Sovereignty.”
