Mel BrooksBorn June 28, 1926, he was an American actor, comedian and filmmaker, and his career spanning over 70 years has taken him from the stage to the big screen, television and more. He cut his teeth as a variety show writer Your show show. He then relied on the director in the 70s to create a comic blockbuster.
He is one of the rare entertainers who can boast of having Emmy, Grammy and Oscars. He was also awarded the Kennedy Center Honor in 2009, the Hollywood Walk of Famester in 2010, the 41st AFI Life Achievement Award in June 2013, and the National Medal of Arts in September 2016.
Mel was married to an actress Anne Bancroft From 1964 to his death in 2005. Their son Max Brooks is an actor and writer and is known for his novels World War I: Oral History of the Zombie War.
