Senate Democrats raised concerns about President Donald Trump’s potential military intervention in a June 18 statement, warning of unilateral actions and sought answers from the White House before escalation.
In a joint statement on Tuesday, Senate minority leader Chuck Schumer (DN.Y.), Approximately Expenditure Committee ranking member Patty Murray (d-wash.), Defense and Budget Tarchris Coons (d-del.), armed service ranking member Jack Reed (Dr.I.), and Intelligence Vice Chairman Mark Warner (D-Va.), are called the “d-va.” They urged Trump to prioritize diplomacy and warned the thousands of US officials stationed in the Middle East of the risks.
