Sen. Tom Tillis (RN.C.) announced on Sunday that he will not run for reelection in the middle of 2026. President Donald Trump had warned that he might move to Primary Tillis after the senator showed he would not support the GOP spending package.

In a lengthy statement, the senator said, “Over the past few years, it has become increasingly clear in Washington that there are leaders willing to embrace bipartisanship, compromise and demonstrate that independent thinking is becoming an endangered species.”
