WASHINGTON – Dustin Michael “Dusty” Johnson (Rs.D.) has announced that he will run for governor of South Dakota during the 2026 general election.

Johnson, 48, represents the entire South Dakota as part of a “large” council district. While in Congress, he was a member of the “Problem Solver Caucus” and won positions against most of the Republican Congress, including a vote to prove the outcome of the 2020 presidential election, supporting the scope of the time. Liz Cheney continues as House Republican Congress chair in 2022.
