James Walkinshaw Wins Democratic Contest to Likely Replace US Rep. Connolly in Northern Virginia

Fairfax, Va. — Democrats and Republicans chose a candidate for Northern Virginia on Saturday. They served as Rep. Jerry Connolly, a Democrat who served in the Congressional District outside Washington for 16 years.

Democrats chose James Walkinshaw, who is currently serving on the Fairfax County Board of Supervisors. It oversees local budgets and policies. The Republican chose Army veteran and former FBI agent Stewart Whitson.
