Based on his timeline of injuries and surgery, Colston Loveland is preparing for the start of his rookie season. Chicago will open its 2025 season at home with MNF in week one and Vikings and week one. Recently, Rookie TE spoke with Aaron McMann from Mlive. Colston Loveland told him that his shoulder recovery process was “good,” but he doesn’t watch much live action. However, Loveland said he will get an immediate update on his level of participation in future training camps.
Chicago used TE’s top 10 picks in a draft that didn’t require much of that positivity. It talks about how high the coaching staff and front office think about Loveland. The 21-year-old played three seasons for Wolverine and was on the championship roster in 2023. During Michigan, Colston Loveland scored 117 catches for 1,466 yards and 11 touchdowns.

In the 2020 NFL Draft, the Bears selected Te Cole Kmet in the second round of Notre Dame. In his five-year career, the 26-year-old has never missed a game. He has been a full-time starter for Chicago since 2021. With Colston Loveland on the roster, we’re hoping the Bears will use formations with multiple tight ends. The offensive genius Ben Johnson will find a way to make it happen.
Colston Loveland is still waiting for the clearance to fill up this summer. The Bears don’t want to risk Loveland being too fast and getting any further injuries. Chicago has made some improvements to the attack from second-year QB Caleb Williams. Most notably his head coach, Ben Johnson.
