There’s something oddly fun about all of the odd scaffolding games, like exchanging organs in a strange alien universe or clicking on items in a creepy hotel room. I’m always excited when the studio unveils a new project. Cooperative Kaiju Horror CuisineI won’t be disappointed. If you don’t believe me, you can play everything for free now.

There are cooking games, there are horror games, then there are cooking horror games. And then there’s Kaiju Horror Cuisine from the Cooperative. It looks strange, but it’s the best way to do it. In the first multiplayer game of Strange Scaffold, you play as a medieval monk chef and try to keep the tide of the apocalypse every year by protecting the hunger of the giant Kaiju.

This chaotic online cooperative game seems to have all my favorite dishes in the game. You can also throw chops, salts, monster parts, or burn food if you like. The only important bit is not to forget to deliver meals to the giant Kaiju via catapults. Or don’t, but it’s on your head.

And if you think it intriguing, it gets better. You and your friends will only take ten minutes to navigate the heart-bending maze and prepare an improvised meal for the hungry monster. But some of those traps look really bad, so take a closer look at your steps.

Co-op Kaiju Horror Cooking will be hit on Steam on July 29th. Starting today, Wednesday, July 16th, you can play the full game for free in the open playtest. It will be updated almost daily as Prelaunch Development ends.
