The US and El Salvador governments announced Friday that they had facilitated the exchange of prisoners and secured the release of 10 US citizens in Venezuela in exchange for the return of more than 250 Venezuelan men who were expelled from the United States and imprisoned in El Salvador.

“Today, we have extradited all Venezuelan citizens detained in our country and accused of being part of the criminal organization Tren de Aragua,” said Salvadra President Naibe Buquere, who said many of them face multiple charges related to violent crimes.
