Central bank digital currency (CBDC) will not be allowed in the US, President Donald Trump said at a White House event on July 18th, pledging to take legislative measures to prevent such a situation.

“I am also fully committed to my pledge and do not allow central bank digital currency in America,” Trump said. “In my first week, I signed an executive order to ban the creation of CBDCs in the United States, and I look forward to signing the law that will soon make it a permanent law.”
