The Denver Broncos finished with a 10-7 record in 2025. This is the highest record since 2015, ending an eight-year playoff drought.

Last season, the team was led by rookie QB Bonnix. He started all 17 games in Denver in 2024. The Knicks are the first Bronco rookie QB to begin their first week since John Elway in 1983. Coach Sean Payton said the Knicks requested that they meet Drew Brees, former New Orleans MVP. They spent a week in San Diego this offseason.

Bo Nix was able to learn from Super Bowl champion Drew Brees this offseason

From 2006 to 2021, Sean Payton was the head coach of the New Orleans Saints. His starting quarterback for 14 of his 15 seasons was the 13th Pro Bowler Drew Brees. With Payton as a playing character, Breeze had a legendary career with New Orleans. Brees led the NFL in seven passing yards, passing four touchdowns and six complete percentages.

Additionally, he is one of two QBs and has earned over 80,000 career pass yards along with Tom Brady. Drew Brees is a game legend, and that’s why the Broncos Bo Knicks demanded they meet him this offseason. Sean Payton runs the same offensive system he ran in Denver in New Orleans. This allows Drew Brees to use his years of experience to teach him what he can do in a short time.

They reportedly spent four or five days this offseason in San Diego. During his rookie season, Bonnix was successful with Sean Payton’s offense. He threw for 3,775 yards, 29 touchdowns and 12 interceptions last season. Nix had six games of stretch and averaged 282.6 yards per game.

If Nix can produce that type of production throughout the season, Denver will be a serious candidate in the West. Bo Nix is determined to “improve” the game this offseason. Meeting with Drew Breeze was one way to make that happen. The 25-year-old learned valuable information from Breeze about Sean Payton’s offensive system.
