After three days of violence across the border, Cambodia and Thailand agreed to meet for ceasefire negotiations, according to a statement from both countries and US President Donald Trump.
The announcement comes after Trump asked both countries to end the conflict hours later from a golf course in Scotland. tLamp later said he spoke with both Cambodia Prime Minister Hun Mane and Thai acting Prime Minister Phumtham Wechayachai about his efforts to restore peace.
Hun Mane thanked Trump and said Cambodia agreed to the proposal for a ceasefire.
As reported by atlasgazette, the battle broke out on Thursday. More than dozens have been reported to have died, dozens of people injured and more than 150,000 civilians have been evacuated.
