I’ve heard a lot of good things Storm GateDespite the rocky start from early access. The free-to-play RTS is not only from a studio created by the former star developer, but also includes a science fantasy universe and world building supported by Blizzard Legend Chris Metzen, with some disease graphics. I’m usually the kind of person who waits for the game to leave early access before taking the plunge, so fortunately for me, Stormgate is hitting 1.0 today. Better yet, you can play your unexpected debut campaign right now.
Starcraft 2’s spiritual successor, Stormate, showed all his promise to be one of the best RTS games when he launched Early Access last year. There were a lot of kinks that needed to be smoothed out, but there have been many improvements in the game, and more will arrive with this new 1.0 launch.
The 1.0 update also includes a balance update for all factions in the three factions, human vanguard, demon hell host, and numerous fixes, tweaks and balance updates for Angel Angels. The latter also undergoes complete improvements and a massive mechanical overhaul arrives at 1.0 for the heavenly cohort.
That’s not all. Starting today, players can experience Stormate’s debut payment campaign, Ashes of Earth. This is a 12 mission issue focused on Vanguard, packed with stories of kicking the Stormate universe into higher gear. In addition to the Stormate free game mode lineup, all players will have 3 missions available for free.
The launch of the campaign will be supported by a cast of stars studded by the game’s star-studded cast, including video game favorite Matthew Mercer and Marvel’s Shanchi (my favorite at Kim’s convenience store). It also has the achievements of new unlockable pets and 36 all-new steam. If Simu Liu isn’t enough to convince you to play Stormate, then fuzzy moth definitely should. In other words, look at this cute little guy.
There is also the all-new Sigma Labs Experimental Hub. This allows you to play 3 Player Cooperative Modes and The Terrain Editor.

The 1.0 update for Stormate will be on sale today, August 5th. For $24.99 you can purchase the new Ash of Ash Campaign, or the ultimate edition bundle for $64.99. This includes all six available heroes, the Ash of Earth Campaign, the adorable chicken pet (not as cute as Fageemus), and the fog of fire in Warshader.
