Newsom Says California Will Hold Special Redistricting Election to Counter Texas’s Plan

California Gov. Gavin Newsom said Friday that the state will move forward with voting measures in November and redraw the Congressional map in response to a Republican-backed Texas constituency change plan.

Alongside the state’s Democratic leaders, Newsom said he would seek special elections to vote to redraw the Congressional map in the first week of November.
