The first mid-term primary of 2026 was more than 200 days away, with Arkansas, North Carolina and Texas starting inter-party qualifying rounds on March 3, 2026, with many congressional races taking shape as incumbents and challengers launch campaigns.
Among the most closely monitored contests is hegemony in the House of Representatives, where Republicans currently hold a 220-213 advantage.
