Over the past few years, NCSOFT, behind MMO giants like Throne and Liberty, Blade and Soul and Guild Wars 2, has shown early footage of a project called Project LLL. It made a strong impression with its impressive sci-fi style and tactical shooting. This is reminiscent of Division 2, Destiny 2, and Warframe. Today, the project is resurfaced by name Cinder Cityand its makers are offering new details on what to expect when the game finally launches next year.
Cinder City, known as the third-person shooter MMO, is thought to appeal to players looking for something new in the multiplayer action game genre. It is set in the apocalyptic version of Seoul in the distant future of the 23rd century, casting players as soldiers with high-tech battle suits who go out to find their lost daughter in constant danger.
What’s immediately impressive is the exterior of Cinder City. The enemies range from humans and shmble zombies to Resident Evil-style monsters and towering robots. It also takes place in a detailed vision of a devastated, futuristic soul, including actual neighborhoods around the city. Despite the trapping of sci-fi traps, gunplay is also intended to be grounded to reality, allowing it to be played on teams and solos.
Cinder City is scheduled to be released in the second half of 2026. Details are scheduled to arrive tomorrow on Tuesday, August 19th. The game will debut a new trailer during the opening night live, allowing players to try it face-to-face at the Gamescom demo station.
In the meantime, other options like Cinder City can be found in picks for the best open world games and the best multiplayer games already out on PC.
