South Africa’s Ruling Party Under Scrutiny at Home and in US

JOHANNESBURG – The African National Congress (ANC) in South Africa has been in power since the end of apartheid in 1994, and has been attacked on two fronts, with Salvos being fired from within the government and from the United States.

At home, there is growing sentiment that South Africa will not escape the worst effects of the high tariffs imposed by US President Donald Trump, unless the ANC scrap laws call it “out of control.”
