When is the next DBD 2V8 mode date? 2V8 is one of several game-changing DBD game modes, where actions are performed on a normal schedule to breathe new life into asymmetric multiplayer. As two killers oppose the team of eight survivors, Chaos has fallen off the charts and knows when the event will return.
As more maps and murderers are added to the roster each time, the Dead by Day Light 2V8 mode has evolved with each new release and is more confusing. This next event is no exception. Below, we’ll see when the next event will take place, and when a killer is learning to play with others in this horror game.
DBD 2V8 date
Dead by Daylight 2V8 is currently live and runs until 8am PDT/11am EDT/4pm on Tuesday, September 2, 2025. This event adds new game-changing plays while waiting for mechanics.
To fight the killer’s miserable cue time, you can play 2v8 as a survivor while waiting to stop in the match as a killer. The patch notes make sure you make sure you return to the queue location once the match is over, so I’m not entirely sure how this will play yet, but I won’t say what will happen if you reach the front of the queue in another game.
Also, since the three classes have considerable park overhauls, if you are a survivor main, you should check the patch notes. Meanwhile, the killer won’t be added to the game this time, but three more areas are spinning in 2v8 mode, Treatment Theatre, Smashed Square and Greenville Square.
DBD 2V8 Event Rewards
This time, we’ll be focusing on reward players with two new badges and charm, with new rewards to complete 2V8-specific quests. The badge is based on the iconic original survivors Claudette and Dwight.
To unlock Party Dwight Badge Life, players must complete four event quests. Claud has 8 shared time badges and a total of 12 Gory Pinata charms.

What is DBD 2V8?
So how does the mode work? Before we get to the nasty roughness of Survivor and Killer gameplay, there’s a bit of news worth mentioning. In previous 2V8 events, it is known that the killer player cue is a little longer. As of the November 2025 event, a new “play in queue” feature has been added, allowing killers to play survivor matches while waiting.
Survivors
Unlike the regular lobby of four survivors, there are eight people in a 2V8 match, so of course the map is much larger. Spread across these big maps are 13 generators, and you and your teammates need to repair eight. This is relatively less than standard games, but considering the size of the group, it can be a bit difficult to adjust yourself.
But what’s really starting to change is that perks are disabled in 2v8, and survivors must instead choose one of four classes: Guide, Medic, Fugitive, and Scout.
The guide is all about purpose, showing the aura of nearby Jen while giving teammates a speed buff during co-op repairs. Medic is, of course, a healer and can see the aura of injured survivors. You will also receive healing speed from the buff. The fugitive must be your 1V1 pro who loves tracking, as it can reveal the aura of windows and pallets, give nearby survivors a speed buff, and have a base kit MFT. Finally, the scout breaks pallets, hurts generations, moves faster while crouching, and sees the murderer’s aura whenever he has a bass kit iron. There are only four classes that can enter one match at a time, so you don’t see eight Medics, for example.
Murderer
Like survivors, murderers are also unable to bring their regular perks into the match. Instead, they have certain perks that will enhance their strength in this unprecedented team environment. For example, the nurse gets one extra blink when he’s close to his teammate, but the trapper has more traps, carrying up to four of his total 12 traps.
Instead of hooking the survivors, the killer is now stomping on the gentle player to place them in a distant cage, similar to the cage of the head of the pyramid. Of course, in many ways, this is an advantage for the killer – no body blocks or anything that doesn’t wiggle. That said, survivors cannot choose where they will ultimately go. If you are picking it up from a safe or locker, you will need to drop it. So this mechanic has its advantages and disadvantages.
Another advantage that the killer has is that the aura reveals every time the generator is completed by an uncaged survivor. This is important information given that you cannot bring in perks of information.
The big question as a murderer, especially a solo cue killer, is whether they team up or get away. There are many generators to watch out for, but as I suggested in the intro, combining your perks and abilities may be the best way to keep your survivors on their toes. How do you play?
How many hatches does DBD 2v8 have?
If the killer is on track and deals with most survivors, it’s time for the hatch to open. In a standard match, one hatch opens for the remaining survivors. In 2v8, three hatches open for the last two players.
As you can imagine, this can be quite fun as two killers may find it difficult to find three hatches. As for survivors, do you want to let yourself go outside or do you try to help your teammates too? What you need to know as a survivor is that after one player leaves it, the hatch is still closed, so that two survivors cannot use the same hatch.
