On June 30, 2025, Dolphins traded Te Jone Smith for the Steelers. He had 111 targets last season, earning 884 receiving yards and eight touchdowns for 888 catches.
This was the second-minimum reception and yard in 2024 by dolphin pass pass catchers. This offseason, Giants QB Darren Waller came out of retirement and was traded with Dulhinz. He joins the TE room, which lacks star talent. On Wedday on August 20th, Waller was activated from Miami’s PUP list. He will be practicing Shikne for the first time in attending dolphins this offseason.

The Miami Dolphins will be the fourth franchise played by veteran Te Darren Waller. In 2015, Waller was the Baltimore Ravens’ sixth pick. Earlier in his career, Waller dealt with substance abuse. It got really bad and he was stopped by the league and missed the entire 2017 season. However, Waller was able to bounce back his career with the help he needed.
He signed with the Raiders. There, Waller had the most productive season of his NFL career. In 2020, Waller made 107 catches for 1,196 yards and nine touchdowns. That was all he was chosen for the Pro Bowl. Since that impressive 2020 campaign, Waller has struggled to stay healthy.

Following Kyogen in 2022, the Raiders traded Waller for the Giants. He played one season in New York before retiring. This offseason, the 32-year-old escaped from retirement and was traded with dolphins. Darren Waller has been away from the NFL for over a year. It will take him time to adapt to playing with dolphins.
Other TEs on the Miami roster include Julian Hill, Pharaoh Brown and Tanner Connor. Hill was not drafted by Campbell in 2023 and played two seasons with Dolphins. Brown was in Seattle in 2024 and played 15 of 17 games. Fianley, Connor was not drafted from Idaho in 2022 and played for Miami for three seasons. Dolphin TE Room in 2025 can hope for a lot. Waller’s agent SIAD He hopes his clients are ready to start the 2025 season.
