Russian officials said several electricity and energy facilities were targeted in the overnight strike. They assured that the fire at the nuclear facility would soon disappear and no injuries were reported. The attack damaged the transformer, but radiation levels remained within normal range, but UN nuclear watchdogs confirmed. “All nuclear facilities must be protected at all times,” said Rafael Mariano Grossi, director of the United Nations International Atomic Energy Agency.

According to the Russian regional governor, firefighters also responded to the flames at the UST-Luga port in Russia’s Leningrad region, home to major fuel export terminals. Officials said 10 Ukrainian drones were shot down and debris lit the fire.
