Julia Roberts opposed Luca Guadagnino’s proposal After the hunt She says she hopes the film will encourage people from different perspectives to have a conversation.

Speaking at a press conference titled Venice, Roberts was asked about the film’s “complex dynamics that could lead to controversy” and whether it was a “politically false film.”

“I love asking softball questions early in the morning,” Roberts said. “I don’t know about the controversy, but we’re trying to have people have conversations and get excited or get mad at it. It’s up to you to drink a martini or lemonade after the movie.”

“It’s not that much that we’re making statements. We’re sharing these lives at this moment, and we just want everyone to leave and talk to each other,” Roberts said. “If we can make this film, it’s the most exciting thing we can achieve that everyone talks to each other.”

Roberts also opposed reporters who suggested that the film could undermine modern feminism and the #MeToo movement.

“I don’t think it’s just reviving the argument that women are opposed to each other or don’t support each other, but there are a lot of old arguments over the long term and create conversations,” Roberts said.

“That’s how we wanted to feel that,” the actress said. “You understand that you strongly believe in us because we stir everything up for you. So you are welcome.”
