“Ancient Film” about the transition to life of women in the 10th century won three prizes at Horizons. It has since been screened at nearly 60 festivals, including the London Film Festival, AFI Fest, Tallinn Black Night, and Red Seafilm Festival, and has over 10 prizes for the best films and scripts, including someone famous to win an award at director Friedland’s Indie Spirit Awards.
Friedland wrote the script and produced films with Alexandra Byer’s LaSouth Films and Matthew Tharm’s Go for Tharm.
Veteran stage actress Kathleen Charfant stars in her changing memories, age identity and desires as a woman who contests her own conflicting relationship with her caregiver. Music Box began film theatre developments in North America in late June, and is preparing for an awards campaign centered around Chalfant’s performance.
