Searchlight sets awards corridor release for Mona Fastvold’s ‘The Testament Of Ann Lee’

Searchlight Pictures is set to release a limited December 25th release in 70mm for the new acquisition of Mona Fastvold’s Venice World Premiere Anley’s Will.

Amanda Seyfried, the honorable head of the Shaker movement of the 18th century, starring in musical dramas, proclaiming the female Jesus Christ by her followers. Lee moved from the UK to New York and founded the U.S. Set Utopia based on equality, communal living and singleness. Quaker derivatives also enjoyed singing and dancing.

The cast includes Thomas Mackenzie, Lewis Pullman, Tim Blake Nelson and Christopher Abbott. FastVold co-written the script with his partner Brady Corbet. They are producers of Kaplan Morrison, Intake Films, and Proton Cinema features.

Anley’s Will He recently won a North American premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival and will perform many recent festivals, including Zurich, London and the AFI Fest.

Searchlight announced the acquisition this week, reportedly paying seven people figures from North America and most international territories high from mid-term. CAA Media Finance represented the contracted filmmakers.

The biopic will liven up the awards season slate featuring the imminent world premiere of the New York Film Festival Is this on? Directed by Bradley Cooper and starring Will Arnett and Laura Dern, the man pivots into a career in stand-up comedy. And Hikari’s recent world premiere of TIFF Rental Family Brendan Fraser will star in the role of a professional stranger.
