First edition of Warsaw Co-Production Forum unveils projects

Featured projects from Poland, Lithuania and the Czech Republic are among 15 projects chosen to be the first of a new co-production event at Warsaw Industry Days (October 15-17), part of the relaunched Warsaw International Film Festival under new programming director Bartek Prusin.

The Warsaw Co-Production Forum is divided into two sections: on October 15th, 10 projects in development will be presented, followed by a closed session the following day, in which footage of five projects in production or post-production will be shown.

The co-production forum will be held in parallel with the Warsaw Industry Talks program, which will consist of panels and talks addressing issues such as the process of script development, the concept of “waves” to promote the international profile of national films, prospects for further cooperation between the Polish and Ukrainian film industries, further co-production opportunities between Poland and the Arabian Peninsula, and cooperation between Netflix and Central and Eastern European producers.

Olsberg SPI will also announce the results of the “Incentive Analysis and Recommendation Study” commissioned by the Polish Film Producers Association (SFP), the Polish Producers Union (KIPA), Netflix, TVN Warner Bros. Discovery and the Polish Producers Union (PGP).

PGP President Joanna Szymanoska will chair a discussion on the report with Netflix’s director, EMEA head of studios Tomasz Dabrowski, and producers from Lava Films, Watchout Studio and Rozbrat Films.
