Federal Government to Announce $12 Billion Farm Aid Program

President Donald Trump is scheduled to announce a $12 billion economic aid package for farmers on Dec. 8, a White House official said.

The Trump administration is embroiled in a trade war with China, with both countries imposing tariffs on each other’s exports. Some U.S. farmers have struggled to sell their crops this year after the Chinese government stopped buying products such as U.S. soybeans and instead bought them from other markets and countries, including Argentina.
