BFI Flare: London LGBTQIA+ Film Festival sees audiences increase by 6%

Screening for BFI Flares and Admission to the Event: London LGBTQIA+ Film Festival, held from March 19th to 30th, 50% of the physical audience participated for the first time, an increase of 6%.

BFI Flare scored 29,831 points in BFI Southbank Screening, Events and BFI Players, up 87% in 2024 with a 92% occupancy.

This year, #FiveFilmsForFreedom, the 11th edition of the BFI Flare and British Council Partnership, is a digital initiative that gives you free access to five films from the BFI Flare Program to global audiences. The festival began with the international premiere of Andrew Anne’s comedy drama Wedding banquetIt had its world premiere at the Sundance Film Festival earlier this year.

Philippe Mattumbacher and Marcio Leron closed the festival with the premiere of the British erotic thriller Night Stage.

In total, BFI Flare includes 34 world premiers Summer camera, Where you find me, Such a night, How to live, A few feet away and chicken.
