SND kicks off sales on ‘Fairy Tales: The Origins’ about French author Charles Perrault

exclusive: SND begins selling French actor and director Clovis Cornillac’s family adventure film on EFM Fairy tales: origins (once upon a time), It is based on the life of Charles Perrault, a 17th century writer credited with being the founder of the fairy tale genre.

Minor additions Director and actor Artus will star as Perrault alongside Cornillac, Albin Renoir, Marine Vacth, and Kim Higelin.

The film is set in Versailles in 1680. Perrault, once a famous poet, lacks inspiration, and when Louis XIV orders him on a secret mission, he teams up with a charismatic and eccentric knight to embark on a dangerous adventure to save his kingdom.

Along the way, he travels to far-flung places, faces powerful enemies, and meets fascinating characters who would later inspire timeless stories, including Little Red Riding Hood, Cinderella, Puss in Boots, Sleeping Beauty, and Bluebeard.

France’s Radar Films and SND are producing the film, with Eric Besnard and Frank Vestiel writing the script, which is currently in post-production. SND is expected to be released in France later this year.

Cornillac is one of France’s leading actors and has also directed several films, including: Belle and Sebastian 3: Friends for Life, Wonderful!, Blind Date and the color of fire.
