Free PC games are always worth hyping, but if it’s an atmospheric must-see FPS game, my excitement level goes up to another level. Sharing a similar tone and survival-based focus with the Stalker series, the Metro franchise has produced several sensational shooters. Metro 2033 Reduxgiven free of charge.

I am fully grateful that your library is already moaning in games that are probably not being played, but you can’t miss a giveaway, especially when this is good. First released in 2010, Metro 2033 is an apocalyptic, survival horror-inspired FPS game filled with grit, beautiful, gloomy aesthetics and unexpected moments. The story of this single-player shooter will take place in Moscow in the aftermath of a nuclear war in which people currently live in abandoned metropolitan tunnels under the city. Explore these tunnels, navigate a world filled with hostile factions and vicious mutants, and even venture out on the ground. Metro 2033 Redux is a fully remastered version and comes with some of the gameplay innovations and features found in Metro Last Light, the second game in the series.

As seen by Stalker, the close cousin of the Metro series, the shooting needs to cause discipline and accuracy as it lacks ammunition. This is one aspect of Metro 2033’s survival game trends, and you will need to wear a gas mask to explore the illuminated areas and replace the air filter.

To feel how good the FPS 2033 is, the Redux version boasts a Steam user score of 90%, and also holds an average review score of 90 on Metallic. The Stalker series is often welcomed as a scene from Dark Survival Shooter, the King of the Dark Survival Shooter, but Metro is a respectable challenger for that title.

Metro 2033 Redux is a great single player shooter game, even after all these years, and can be added to your steam, GOG or Xbox library for free, up to 9am PDT/12pm EDT/5pm BST/6pm Sesto on Wednesday, April 16th.
