The Canucks provided an update on Brock Boser’s injuries after receiving a horror blind side hit from Tanner Janknot of the Los Angeles Kings last week.

Block Boser is struggling

Canucks forward Brock Boser was at the wrong end of a blindside hit from Tanner Janknott on Thursday night, with Kings player shooting his opponent in the head from behind.

Boser was ruled out in the rest of the match after being hit hard, and Jeannott was kicked out of the match due to his illegal hit.

Speaking for the first time this week since Boeser was hit, Canucks head coach Rick Tocchet provided an update to players who seemingly didn’t encourage fans.

“I talked briefly with him,” Totchet said Saturday. “I don’t feel good, but I don’t say it’s scary, so I think he’s indefinitely now.

“These things can change for a week or 24 hours. I don’t know.”

Boser has led the team in six games this season in 12 games, so there’s no doubt that Vancouver will miss the best so far so far while recovering from hits.

Jeannot was given a 3-game pause by the NHL Player Safety Safety Safety Sense. This was considered out of control and dangerous.

The official NHL statement read: “It’s Jeannot who controls this hit, and he chooses the angle of the approach that cuts across the front of the Boeser, letting the core slip and the head become the main point of contact.

“If Jeannot wants to provide this check, he must stay low and take an angle that hits through the Boeser’s shoulders and core, rather than making his head the main point of contact.”

Jeannot already offers one game of his suspension, but he now misses the next two league matches with The Flames and Avalanche.
