The Dodgers played the Mets in the National League Championship Series this week against the Mets as Los Angeles shut out New York with a 9-0 victory.
The Dodgers shut out the Mets
The Dodgers kicked off the National League Championship Series on Sunday night, winning an overwhelming victory over the Mets, shutting out New York with a dominant first victory.
There’s still a long way to go to get to the Dodgers before the World Series, but winning the game with such compelling manners is enough to expect LA fans to head deep into the postseason.
Jack Flaherty led the way to the home side on Sunday, with the pitcher continuing his impressive playoff form after seven more scoreless innings.
“It’s so much fun,” Flaherty said. “You can’t put everything into words, but the most important part was to come out and set the tone.”
Setting the tone is what the Dodgers did in Game 1. They broke the Orioles’ best records set before the 1996 World Series, tying MLB playoff records in 33 consecutive scoreless innings.

“I can look at it and say I did a good job today,” continued Flaherty. “It was a really good team over there and we had a good game, but we have to go back tomorrow and step into the pedals.
On the other side, there were no home runs in the first meeting, but they led the Dodgers’ path with two runs each.
After their first victory in the Championship Series, there is no time to rest for the Dodgers. Game 2 will appear on Monday afternoon.
