Over 10 years ago, Assassin’s Creed 3 It came out as a follow-up to a trio of well-received games featuring fan favorite character Ezio Auditore Da Firenze. Set during the American Revolution and featuring a more stoic protagonist far from the nasty Ezio of previous games, AC3 gained a reputation among many players for being a series failure. But although approached with fresh eyes and years of hindsight, it’s easy to see Assassin’s Creed 3 as perhaps the most powerful AC ever, thanks to its unique world design and powerful storytelling. With AC3 currently available on a steep slope, anyone looking for a cheap alternative to the recent Assassin’s Creed Shadows is lucky.
Assassin’s Creed 3 incorporates the stealth game design from the AC2 trilogy from European cities into North American forests, waters and low-density construction settlements. Because of this choice, players will climb between the limbs of the tree as much as they do the scaling tower, taking part in the battle of the Navy in one of the cleverest expansions of the AC Formula.
Aside from changing settings, Assassin’s Creed 3 stands out in a fascinating quest of that period, following the birth of the United States in terms of parents Mohawk and British, and the personal journey throughout the game reflects the chaos of the times. The “present” plotline is just as monotonous as most of the series, and while the game is plagued by the repetitive and bloated number of assassin creed entries, there is much to be grateful for for those willing to overlook the flaws.
Assassin’s Creed 3 Remastered is currently available at a 75% discount, with the price dropping to USD 9.99/£8.49. Get a copy on Steam here.
