Monster Hunter Wild There’s a scammer problem. Now that Capcom has launched Title Update 1, some players have changed files and placed them on the top of the leaderboard or have significantly inflated the rewards they can get from the quest. But fortunately for us, Capcom is quick to draw and recommends how to play with scammers already, but these data-modified quests have proven to be a big problem.

If you’re crushing for rewards in Monster Hunter Wilds, you might have come across one or two quests with a huge amount of bonus. I’m not talking about a lucky double hunt with some nice extras, I’m giving them a reward to stack up hundreds and thousands. These are from other players who change game data, and Capcom warns that participating in these quests will allow you to completely “unplay” your RPG.

“An illegal change in Monster Hunter Wild game data has been confirmed for illegal changes to game data for high-level environmental investigations, field surveys, and more,” Capcom wrote. “The changed data can also interfere with normal gameplay and prevent the game from being played. If you think the quest has been changed, don’t play it.

Capcom offers a chart detailing the maximum number of monsters and rewards you can find in Wilds, making it easy to know if you’re in a modified quest. Developers also say there are “additional measures” planned in future updates. After all, the last thing you want is to become part of a mistakenly hacked quest, get rewarded and prohibit fraud before you realize what happened.

Capcom adds that it cannot individually determine whether the quest has been changed or not, and cannot support issues that arise due to data manipulation. Capcom is working on an extra way to separate unsuspecting players from being involved with scammers, but the team has some advice. If you think you are in a quest where data has been changed, please quit immediately and restart the game. AutoSave is only enabled when the quest results screen appears. This allows you to get boosted rewards and avoid getting into trouble.
