The Russian attack during the 30-hour Easter ceasefire announced by President Vladimir Putin over the weekend killed three people in Ukraine’s South Herson area, the local governor said.

Overall, Russia has violated the ceasefire more than 2,900 times, Ukraine’s host Voldymir Zelenki said in a telegram statement early on Monday.
Zelenskyy said Russian forces carried out 96 assault operations along the frontline, fired more than 1,800 times across Ukraine’s locations, and used hundreds of drones during the ceasefire.
“The nature of Ukraine’s actions will continue to be a mirror. We will respond to silence and our blows will be a defense against Russian strikes. Actions are always more eloquent than words,” he said.

In a statement Monday, the Russian Ministry of Defense claimed that Moscow’s troops “have closely observed the ceasefire and remained in previously occupied lines and positions.”
Ukraine accused them of violating the ceasefire 4,900 times, including six attempts in assault operations, 1,404 attacks from artillery, multiple rocket launchers and mortars, and 3,316 drone strikes targeting Russian troops.
The ministry said that once the ceasefire expired, Russian troops “resumed special military operations” in Ukraine.
