From the moment it was revealed, Chernoblite 2 He stood out for his ambition. Compared to the original, it combines a much-expanded experience with elements of realistic survival FPS games like Fallout, Stalker, and even apocalyptic RPGs like MMO. It was released in Early Access two months ago and is steadily improving the experience. But today, the first “megapatch” arrives, bringing about major overhauls, technical improvements and more.
One of the most immediate and prominent parts of this mammoth update of a cooperative RPG is the addition or exchange of hundreds of audio lines. Chernobylite 2 was launched in so many placeholders, but developer The Farm 51 finally got several audio actors in the booth, documenting a more emotional and high quality interaction.
Tablet gadgets are the core elements of Chernobylite 2 and act as maps, compasses, trackers, and more. However, it was previously only available in the first person. Farm 51 has now expanded its functionality to work with third parties. This means that those who prefer that perspective do not have to continue switching. Speaking of switching, there is a smooth, seamless transition when you feel like exchanging perspectives, allowing you to chop between a moment and a third party in a flash.
In addition to two new essence-based weapons, the blaster energy weapon from the original Chernoblite has returned, but this time it benefited from the wide range of customizations and gun mod options for Chernoblite 2. For those who enjoy long-range combat but want to make things silly, you can now perform stealth elimination with ranged weapons. The first boss battles of the game were also completely overhauled to make for a much more difficult and memorable experience. The first standard mission you’re embarking on has also been revamped.
Overall, there are newly upgraded animations, hundreds of bug fixes, better translations for some languages, and general stability improvements. The huge Megapatch update for Chernobylite 2 is currently live.
But it’s not an exciting announcement from today’s Farm 51. Additionally, an updated roadmap has been revealed for the remainder of 2025 to build up a maximum of 1.0 releases.
This roadmap is packed with new weapons, quests, bosses, enemy types, locations and skills. Several core RPG features are also on the way, including the “Faction World Influant System” and the perks mechanic.
If it’s too early to pull the trigger in Chernobylite 2, why not check out a little more of your favorite survival and apocalypse games?
