On Thursday night, the first round of the 2025 NFL Draft was in Green Bay, Wisconsin. It was an exciting time for the 32 players who heard their names be called.

The 2024 NFL Draft featured six QBs on the first 12 picks. The same cannot be said for the 2025 NFL Draft. Only two QBs were filmed throughout the first round of the year. Titan chose Come Ward on the #1 pick, and the Giants went back to the first round and chose Jackson Dirt at #25.

One storyline that enters the NFL Draft on Thursday was limited first-round QB talent. For many draft analysts, Titan chose Come Ward from Miami to rank first in the overall pick. It was something that was given. However, there were questions as to whether the second QB would be retrieved in the first round. Colorado’s Shedur Sanders and Ole Miss Jackson Dirt were potential targets for the team late in the first round.

In the end it was the New York giant who made a deal with the Texans. They gave up the 2025 third round pick and the 2026 third round pick, winning their 25th pick in 2025. New York chose Jaxson Dart. This concludes the QBS run in the first round of this year’s draft. This is the first time since 2015 that only two QBs have been collected in the first round. In 2015, Jameis Winston and Marcus Mariota from the general #1 were #2.

Tennessee was lucky and picked first in the draft. It gave them the luxury of choosing Come Ward from Miami. However, the giants were strategic and had to be traded for DART. They had a #3 pick in the 2025 NFL Draft and chose Abdul Carter. General Manager Joe Shane had to be patient and wait for the right timing to trade up. The biggest story of the second day is where the Colorado Chedure Sanders is drafted. From what round does QB slip?
