Trump blames Amazon for showing tariff fees

The White House has accused Amazon, where President Trump’s tariffs reportedly plan to show the amount added to the cost of the item. Press Secretary Caroline Leavbit called the e-commerce Giants’ plans “hostile and political acts.”

“The team running the ultra-low-cost Amazon Haul Store has looked at a list of import fees for certain products,” the spokesman said. “This is never considered by the main Amazon site and nothing is implemented in Amazon properties.”

China-based Amazon competitors Shein and Temu have recently added a significant extra charge. Temu includes rows in the checkout tally indicating “import charges” which add about 145% of each item.
