Last Thursday, the 2025 NFL Draft took place in Green Bay, Wisconsin. One of the issues the NFL encountered during this draft season was the call to mischief from external numbers.

Browns QB Shedeur Sanders received a prank call from Jax Ulbrich. Son of Falcons DC Jeff Ulbric. As a result, Atlanta was fined $250,000 by the NFL, and Jeff Ulbric was fined $100,000 by the Falcons. His son got Sanders’ number from his iPad. Several top prospects called out pranks during the draft. The latest to share their story was Giants rookie Abdul Carter.

Abdul Carter revealed he was another player who was misled during the draft.

ESPN’s Adam Shefter reported that Abdul Carter is another well-known prospect who got pranked on draft night. His agent, Drew Rosenhaus, said that Carter received a prank call while Jaguar was on the clock with the #2 pick. The call told Carter that Jacksonville would pick him for his second overall pick. Rosenhaus says Carter and he knew the phone wasn’t real. A few minutes later he received a call from the Giants and was drafted to third overall.

Rosenhaus said it was “unfortunate” that these private numbers were leaked. The league is still considering who pranked Abdul Carter. His caller is not the one who mischievously cheated Chedur Sanders. It’s a shame these athletes have to deal with such behavior. They wait to draft a lifetime. The last thing that should happen is that they received a prank call.

Luckily for Abdul Carter, he was the next pick after being mischievous. The same cannot be said for other players. Colts Te Tyler Warren was mischievous while the Jets were on the board at #7. However, he was not selected until Indianapolis was selected in #14. The worst of them was Browns QB Chedure Sanders. He was mischievous in the second round and was not selected until the fifth round.
