From 2024-25, the Miami Heat finished 37-45. That’s their worst record since the 2014-15 season. They made the playoffs through the play-in tournament as the 8th seed in the East.
Miami appeared in four games in the first round by the Cleveland Cavaliers. According to League Insider, the Heat could potentially target veteran players this offseason. Mark Stein reported that Mimai is interested in Kevin Durant of Phoenix. He remains in a business with the Sun for a year.

The 2024-25 season was a turning point for Mimai’s fever. Six seasons later, the team parted ways with Jimmy Butler and traded him for the Warriors. The most recent playoff success Heat has acquired was Jimmy Butler. This offseason, Miami will be looking for talent and adding it to the roster. Tyler Hero and Bam Adebayo are both All-Stars. But the heat again requires another player to become a true candidate for the East.
NBA insider Mar Stein believes the Heat can target Phoenix’s Kevin Durant this offseason. He is scheduled to take part in the final season of his four-year, $194 million contract with the Suns. Durant has set a $54 million cap hit. This is linked to the 10th highest in the NBA from 2025-26. Stein reported that Durant was often the player mentioned when he was discussed about Miami’s heat.
Next season, Durant is 37 years old, making his 18th professional season. It’s possible that he wasn’t spending time with the Phoenix Suns. It’s been a disaster in Miami since Durant appeared. Phoenix’s only move this offseason is to trade Durant and regain as much value as possible. When the 2025 playoffs officially end, fever is certainly a team to watch.
