Sarajevo Film Festival has selected a new feature project from Hilal Baydarov and David Kapac, among the first titles of the joint production market.
Eight projects will be participating in the Cinelink workshop from June 16th to 20th, but one Chimera flowering – We will be in Cinelink’s co-production market from August 16th to 21st. The program includes script development support through consultation and expert-led sessions.
Beidarov, Azeri filmmaker, will be present Stone on top of stonewhere a young couple living and working on a corrupt construction site struggles to ensure a hopeful future for their unborn child. Written by Baydarov and Georg Tiller, the film is co-produced with Azerbaijan’s Ucqar films and is produced by Maeva Ranaivojaona, Tiller and Baydarov for Austrian subsurface films.

It is selected Gentiles From Croatian filmmaker David Capacc – A drama set on the Dalmatian island in the 1920s. There, she is at the mercy of local villagers when her new sailor husband gets lost in the sea. Written by Andrija Mardesic and Kapac, the film is co-produced with Vertigo of Slovenia and is produced by Rea Rajcic and Tina Tisljar for the Croatian closure.
Also included in the selection Half empty placea portrait of right-wing leader Victor Orban’s strange relationship in the Hungarian context, written by director Dolka Bahmes, Sarah Tory Havas.
The joint production market will award a prize of 66,000 euros. Cinelink Female Voices Award for 20,000 Euros.
The co-production market is part of Cinelink Industry Days and has also selected seven drama series from Southeastern Europe for Cinelink Drama Workshop Strand.
The title includes the political thriller of Asimina Proedrou Under the surface A young woman from Athens, a former Balkan soldier and a US executive choose to cause a global collapse from Greece, where it is linked by the international metals trade.
Further titles for Industry Day, including the selection of co-production markets, will be announced in the coming weeks. The 2025 Sarajevo Film Festival will be held from August 15th to 22nd.
