For now everything looks good Minecraft world. Minecraft Live is an explosion, the latest snapshots bring improvements to both long-range combat and leashes, and Minecraft films have been a huge success. But like any video game, Mojang’s Blocky Builder has experienced a share of technical troubles. Veterans may remember the dancing Ender Dragon. In fact, Creeper, Minecraft’s most iconic enemy, is the result of a glitch that twists and stretches the original character model of the pig. Currently, Mojang’s top creative officer, Jens Bergensten explains the history of the best Minecraft bugs. Who remembers squid milk here?

2025 looks as busy as ever with Mojang’s building games, but make sure you’re speeding up with the best Minecraft Seeds and the best Minecraft Mods. Once you find a new world and settle down, see if you can find a friendly squid. Hopefully, you’ll notice two things. One is a squid swimming in the water. No matter how hard you try, you can’t milk like a cow. As one of Minecraft’s most legendary developers explains, this wasn’t necessarily the case.

“When I first started working on Minecraft, I didn’t know exactly how everything worked,” explains Bergensten, who co-developed Minecraft since 2010. “We wanted to add a new mob so we added squid, and the best way to do that was to copy the existing mob.

“For a while, I was able to actually milk the squid, but it was a bit ridiculous and not the intended behavior. Again, the squid was my first mob so I was able to add more issues to it. The way I made the movement code, the server and client wouldn’t admit where it was actually.

Squid milking (what a wonderful combination of words) was removed from Minecraft in 2011. I’m not saying you should be able to get milk from squid, maybe a black dye? In any case, I agree that squid should remain in the water, not in the sky.
